We are delighted that you are considering a place at St James and St John for your child and look forward to welcoming you on a visit to our school soon. We are a church of England school with a strong inclusive ethos so our familes are of all different faith backgrounds.
If, at any time, you have any questions about the admissions process, please don't hesitate to ask.
St James & St. John is a Voluntary Aided Church of England Primary School providing education for children aged between 3 and 11 years. Our Early Years Unit consists of a Nursery Class and a Reception Class teaching children from 3 to 5 years of age. In the Main School, we teach Year 1 to Year 6 children until admission into a secondary school.
Full details of the admission criteria for 2019-20 Reception entry can be found in our admissions policy below.
We are always happy to welcome visits from prospective parents who are interested in applying for a space in our school.
We run small group tours so you have the chance to ask any questions you might have and meet school staff.
Our school tours take place every week with our Headteacher, Mr Mark Hewitt. There is of course the chance to walk around our school and visit both our Early Years and main school sites.
If you would like to book a place on a school tour, please see the link in the left menu for the latest School Tour dates and contact our school office who will be happy to help.
If for some reason you cannot attend one of the dates listed, give our school office a ring and we will do our best to fit you in at a different time.
A common question with regard to the admission process is about the boundaries of the parish. Details of the Parish boundary for St. James’s Church, Sussex Gardens and St. John’s Hyde Park can be found on the website of the Church of England.
