SCHOOL VISION AND VALUES STATEMENT

Our school vision was created through discussion with children, staff, governors and parents and represents the collective ideas and drive of our school community.

We seek to live out our school vision through our lives together every day.

Our school vision Jesus says, ‘I have come that they may have life and have it in all its fullness’ John 10:10

Thriving together in learning, loving and living.

Excellence in learning

We will ensure high levels of achievement and have high expectations for all of our children. We will provide a stimulating and inspiring curriculum for all.

Excellence in living

Our children will meet high expectations for behaviour, courtesy and respect and show that our school values are embedded in day to day life. Our school values reflect our strong Christian ethos and our distinctiveness as an Anglican school community.

Excellence in loving

We will show God’s love for all by valuing every child and every member of our school community as unique.

We will achieve our school vision by

  • Making our school values the guide and governing principle for all aspects of school life.
  • Looking to Jesus Christ as our pioneer and guide.
  • Ensuring that learning is experiential, creative, imaginative and challenging and that our shared vision for learning is the driving force behind our work in the classrooms.
  • Maintaining a sharp and clear focus on the progress and development of each individual child to ensure they achieve the very best that they can.
  • Making all adults and children feel happy, safe and cared for in our school community.
  • Building ever stronger links to our families, parishes and local community.
  • Treating all members of our school community with courtesy, kindness and respect.
  • Taking part in worship that enriches the life of our school and builds us up in faith, hope and love.

Our school values

Our school values enable us to put our school vision into action by guiding us on how we should be with each other in the day to day life of our school community.

Perseverance

We work hard at our learning, meeting the challenges we face along the way with determination and courage. Keep going!

Philppians 3:14 : But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Reverence

We show a deep respect for each other which comes from our knowledge of God's love for all. No one is forgotten or left out.

The first commandment is: The Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: You shall love your neighbour as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these. (St Mark 12:28-34)

Forgiveness

We each make mistakes, and we each need to give and receive the chance of starting again. Getting things wrong is an opportunity to grow and learn.

Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

Trust

We are honest and know we can rely on others in our school community to support us. None of us can be our best without the help of each other.

John 14:1 (Jesus’ words to his disciples) ‘Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.

Fellowship

We care for one another because good relationships make for good learning. Friendship is fun!

John 15: 13-14 (Jesus’ words at the Last Supper) ‘Greater love has no one than this that he lay down his life for friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you.

Joy

Let the rooms of our school be full of happiness and excitement in our learning. We believe that joy is not found in things but in abundant life and abundant living. Growing into who God has made us to be is the adventure of a lifetime!

Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit
