St. James & St. John Virtual Primary School has been launched in response to the requirements for all schools to close due to the ever-changing COVID-19 situation.

Starting from Monday the 23rd of March 2020, the Virtual school will operate with the following hours:

Most students should now have received home learning bundles in physical form. If you have not, they are available on the school website on the SCHOOL CLOSURE LEARNING PACKS page. These learning packs are to be used in the case that online provision by the Virtual team is unable to continue or in the case that Internet facilities are no longer available. Please avoid using these in any other circumstance.

Starting from Monday 23rd of March 2020 until Friday April 3rd 2020, daily learning will be added to the class pages of the school's website.

During the Easter holidays, no daily learning will be uploaded as the Virtual School will be closed. Information related to its operation after the Easter holidays will be posted once it is finalised and the situation at that point is identified.

To accommodate the physical site remaining open to children of key workers and those identified as vulnerable, the virtual school will currently be staffed in the following way:

Headteacher Mr Mark Hewitt
Deputy Headteacher/SENCO Mr Liam Peters
Nursery and Reception Miss Sandra Salas-Perez
Year 1 and Year 2 Miss Eniko Koltai
Year 3 and Year 4 Mrs Gemma Chadwick
Year 5 and Year 6 Mr Max O'Donoghue
Office Staff Miss Alessandra Ferlito
  Mrs Shilla Dodia
Designated Safeguarding Lead Mr Liam Peters
Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead Ms Alison Fish
Safeguarding and Pastoral Support Mrs Shirlee Domalanta
  Mrs Kate Bodell

This staffing is subject to change in the case of staffing needs of the physical site.

Each day by 9:30am, learning will be posted on the class pages of the website. This learning will include a maths task, an English task, a foundation subject task and a task listed as other. These 4 tasks are planned to be completed by the student and be returned for feedback - if needed - which will be provided during Feedback time the following workday.

An email will be sent identifying that the tasks have been posted. These emails will be sent to:

  • Nursery, Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3: Parent email addresses
