Nursery Admissions

NURSERY ADMISSIONS

Our school Nursery is open during school term time from 9:00am to 3:00pm. We offer parents a range of part-time and full-time options - please come and discuss the timetable with us that would suit your family the best.

Children usually start in our Nursery class the term after their third birthday. Children can be admitted at any point in the school year.

Applications for our Nursery class for the 2024-25 academic year are being accepted.

Applications are ranked according to the criteria in our whole school admissions policy.

The deadline for the first round of applications for entry to our Nursery class in either September 2024 or January 2025 is closed on Friday 8th March 2024.

If there are any places remaining, these are allocated on a first come first served basis up to the end of the summer term and the school is happy to accept Nursery applications at any time.

In September, if there are still outstanding applications the school will rank these based on the criteria in our admissions policy. Places will then be offered to children according to their position on the waiting list until all places have been taken for either September or January entry.

We are happy to consider applications for entry once a child is three and before the term after their third birthday if our Nursery provision is suitable for them and we have space available - please get in touch with our school office if you wish to discuss this.

Our Nursery classroom is staffed by a full-time qualified teacher and teaching assistants. This means that your child will receive a high level of adult support.

We are able to provide a school lunch for our full-time and part-time morning children and our Nursery children love the chance to spend time with the older children in Reception and with the whole school at different events.

Our Nursery opening hours are 9:00am - 3:00pm and we offer a number of options for Nursery places:

Option A - 30 hours entitlement:

A full-time place where parents are working and entitled to 30 hours free childcare.

Option B - Top up contributions from the parents

A full-time place where the family pays a top up contribution of £50 per week to cover the costs of hours in addition to the 15 hours entitlement that every child gets.

Option C - Free full-time place for FSM or PPG children

A full-time place for children whose families are entitled to free school meals of which, for whom, the school will receive the early years pupil premium.

Option D - Part-time places

A morning (9:00-12:00) or afternoon (12:00-15:00) part time place for 15 hours per week.

Please get in touch with our school office if you have any questions about which option works best for your family.

The school will always work with parents to find the best solution to make sure your child can join our Nursery class.

This could include giving a free full-time place to a child who:

  • Is NOT entitled to 30 hours free child care because both parents work.
  • Is NOT entitled to Free School Meals or the Early Years Pupil Premium

We want to provide free spaces to those familes facing difficulties or have a level of need but who might not meet the criteria for Option A or Option C above. Come and speak to us before you apply for your child's place and we will support your family in any way we can.

If relevant to your application, the school's religious reference form needs to be completed at your place of worship and will be used to prioritise applications when the Nursery is full. You can download this form below.

Applications for a space in our school nursery can be made at any time using our Nursery application form below.

Please do not hesitate to contact our school office if you need any support with applying for a nursery place.
